Title: Is this a crazy idea or what?
Post by: Westbranch on February 01, 2015, 01:57:57 PM
I was reading a post on NAWS and the thought occurred to me that the best solution to the problem would be to use a PWM controller with a WhizBang jr..

Just reviewed the brochure for the BRAT and as expected there is no mention off it (WBJr)

To somehow use the ability of the WBjr to signal  'End Amps' to the CC would make this a real game changer...

So, would it be possible to integrate a WBjr, say with a 'Black Box' add on, or is it technically undo-able?

Spelling... correction

Yup
Crazy because the Force is not with you.  ;)
WBJr needs many hamsters to send the messages back & forth , while most PWM are built light with few hamster wheels .

Im thinking that PWM units are built with simplicity for price to be sold. I have had 2 units that only had leds or a volt meter while a Morning star 15 MTTP unit with their  modbus  had some real info . I'm still learning what the classic has for record-able info . Many hamsters & wheels.

I have been trying to get a WBJr & a Classic with a MNBCM all to sync in .. been a few months , but getting closer .I will not do a move of wires without keeping it "HOT" , Im not losing any adaptations.(in the MNBCM)

I'm not saying anyone is off , but the kid & classic has alot of internal electronics just for the WBjr.

As with the jk of the "Force" I had a bug with the BTS  that I disabled & DIO / repaired , You replied with the V M M  or Vulcan Mind Melt , or a Reboot of the Classic .. I didn't have a clue of that Jk / expression .

I have a few pictures of the PWM Brat , seems like it 's built sleek & tough but could be priced very favourable against some of the offshore .

I lost voltage on the MNBCM while I was moving it , So back to see if I can get the twin greens in winter.

Glad they are field testing before the release .

Quotebut the kid & classic has a lot of internal electronics just for the WBjr.

That is why I was thinking of the Black Box project that is, looks like, going to be developed on the BBB / Beagle Bone Black, little power house CPU as I have read so far.. Very versatile too..

cheers, spring is coming soon.

I've read that also , but I can't see for the price of a 30 amp PWM CC, WBjr ,Shunt & now a BBB interface is going to almost cost the same as a Kid.
My morning star mttp15 had logging onto my computer , so for two years I had info on my site & mountain / valley .
Other than that , it's limited in competition .

Had two days of sun after 3 weeks of rain . Same as Arlington , soggy fields , keep the wheels on the taxi-ways , skids have wings .
