I'm curious if an external fan could somehow be automatically operated via the AUX port, and if so how? Thanks.

You can use the AUX contacts to signal a relay and that way turn on other loads - like a fan.
Do a search on this group for SSR solid state relay or AUX for more details.

When I do those searches the only thing that comes up is this thread. And when I tried that before posting all I got was some dated suggestion.
My bad, I thought this board was a support feature of Midnite. I'll just ask them directly.
You need to go to the home page before starting the search otherwise it will only search from the directory you are in.

Yeah like dgd said you have to go to home page on forum and then search. Then you could ask some specific question. Most of us are just users and volunteers here on this forum. Lots of info from the past discussions saves us lots of typing and time !

What we would need to know:
What is the purpose of the fan?
What are the electrical specs of the fan?
With that info we can help suggest ways to wire the fan and possible ways to program Aux 1 to do that
Am no expert, BUT, based upon -TX-'s Status, as a "Guest", would assume that this once-member is no longer a Member, and will probably not be posting here anytime, soon.

Pretty vague question from the start.
Not sure what folks expect here but most of us are NOT employees or support personnel for Midnite Solar but just volunteers giving our time freely to help folks out with Midnite products. With a few Midnite employees chiming in when they can.

As I said in the other forum to TX, I belive the Classics are undercooled and can use all the help
in cooling. That's a tight little compartment you have the classic and inverter installed into.
bored members - Can the main classic fan terminals also control a relay to switch on another fan, and reserve the AUX terminals for another purpose.
What was the scoop on adjustable fan setpoints - only new hardware versions of the classic ? Would the Local App be updated to control that too ?
