Title: Breaker Busbar for MNPV6 cut to use in Big baby box
Post by: mikeptag on January 02, 2018, 03:55:52 PM
Would there be a problem cutting the Breaker Busbar for MNPV6 down to 4 spaces to use in the Big Baby Box? I thought it would be nice to have a common + and as far as I can tell Midnite Solar doesnt make a specific + busbar for the baby box

I don't see any problem with it . It is just a piece of copper that is conducting power so as long as it is suitable for the load over it doesn't make any difference.

I've cut a few myself , just to use a certain size of breakers & made a 12 combiner into 3 x 4 strings to feed 3 classics  times two boxes & 6 150s ..

After the cut I file the copper smooth & tin it back with solder .

Hi mike..,

So,   are you trying to make a 4 breaker Combiner box?

All of the MidNite Small Boxes  are designed for Indoor use (as you probably know).

There could be an issue with the Busbar dimensions when used in the BigBaby Box   ...   dunno.

Here is the Brochure on MN Small Boxes:
