I know the datasheets typically say "1-3% of C/20 rate" for charge termination, but that's an awfully wide range.
For a 225Ah bank, that's 2.25A-6.75A, which is quite a wide range for termination. Especially since, given enough charging, it can get down to the 1% area.
I've had it set around 1% for the winter, which it can get to (sometimes not after a long week of PSOC cycling), but I'm thinking that pushing it up to 1.5% or 2% in the summer, when the pack charges fully every day, would be sane.
Thoughts? My goal is longevity on the bank, more than cramming every last amp-hour in, but they're flooded, so they take the overcharge decently.

There are a lot of past detailed discussions about this topic in the forums.
Basically you need to spend some time analyzing your batteries by watching the point where the amps start to level off , in conjunction with the SOC reaching 100 % , and verifying by taking specific gravity readings . Then you will know what the exact ending amps point should be .

8x Trojan T105-REs in series, for a 48V/225Ah bank.
Midnite Classic with 2280W of panel hung, WbJr for current sensing.
Plus another 570W of east facing panel on a PWM controller - helpful for getting the recovery going early in the morning.
I'm definitely on the overpaneled side of things, and am usually into absorb by around 1100-1130 (sometimes earlier).

Would this be the point where, if you leave it at the absorb voltage, the charge current levels off? I've got charts on that, and 1% seems about right. I'll check this against SG here in the next few days.
