Title: Magnum ME-AGS-N Reason for Running
Post by: Ron Swanson on May 14, 2018, 04:06:00 PM
Is there a way to tell why a Magnum AGS is commanding the generator on?  We have a customer who has one running for no apparent reason.

The LEDs are visible but the issue is that the generator will start and run when the batteries have not been run down that far.

This is the kind of problem that requires a lot of observation and thinking to figure out, just doing the preliminaries here.

I know Outback will tell the reason for the generator running but I do not know how to figure it out on Magnum.

On the Magnum you select why you want it to start, IE voltage or state of charge etc. So if its running that means it met the start parameter of the particular mode you select. Basically you get one and one only so for example if you set it to start on voltage and set the start voltage at 49v then if the generator is running it must of sagged to 49v

So, what WERE the AGS settings in his system ?

Reasonable values and just not enough sun to charge the batteries ?

This was all based on a phone call, I have not been back yet.
