Title: Lithium
Post by: Bill on March 03, 2020, 11:20:04 PM
Looking for advice on lithium charging. I build 50 amphr lithium batteries for ebike use. 18650 cells
12p 14s with common wired bms. I would like to use these in my wanderlodge with 6 300wt panels. I have a classic 150 with 400 amp hrs a 12volt currently. I would like to dedicate 2 panels to 12volt (kid charge controller) and use the other 4 panels for 48 volt lithium with the classic.  I have been using solar for ten years and would like to learn about using lithium  as well as having a redundant system. I'm not sure about charging with the classic.  I charge my lithium with dedicated chargers for specific chemistry. Anyone out there using lithium.  I would appreciate any help.

Thanks Bill Ezrow

Regarding you ebike battery pack building - have you read Michah's book ?
https://www.amazon.com/DIY-Lithium-Batteries-Build-Battery/dp/0989906701/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=build+your+own+lithium+batteries+for+ebikes+book&qid=1583300462&sr=8-2
Sounds like you have the ebike battery building down and yes it is easier using their dedicated  AC chargers .

There was a recent discussion on the forums here about charging lithium batteries with the Classic . I will look for it and post the link.

If you go to the first midnite forum page and type in lithium you will see a lot of past discussions ( the search only works on main forum page for some reason)
