Title: Barcelona as switchable wind -> battery charge controller?
Post by: Mr. Underfoot on March 19, 2020, 08:19:32 PM
My situation: have Proven/Kingspan/Whoever-bought-them-now 6kW wind turbine with rectifier box feeding WindyBoy grid-tied inverter.  Also have 1.5kw of PV feeding 48VDC AGM battery bank thru Midnite Classic, which feeds a Schneider (before it became Conext) inverter for must-have house loads.

What I think I'd like to do: rig up a switch/contactor to manually select feeding the Windy Boy or the Barcelona to supplementally feed the battery bank (or get some use out of the genny when the grid goes down).  Barcelona specs appear to make this feasible.  Recommendations/Show Stoppers?

Hi, I also have a Proven 6kW and a windy boy. I want to add storage batteries,
Did you find a solution so the turbine could charge the batteries.
thanks Simon

I hope that we eventually add wind tracking to these new HV input charger controllers.

It won't happen in the first versions though like the Classic does.

Hey, I'm back - still looking for a status on Wind application for the Barcelona/HawksBay.  Anything to share?

Wind is on our list for future features but could be a year away.

We would also have to make a 600 V  Clipper.  Our present 300V Clipper would need some modifications.
