I am running thebwire between my birdhouse and my panels. My question is can I use direct burial 6 pair shielded wire. Instead of a 4 pair shielded direct burial wire?
I don't see any reason why not as long as point A of connector 1 connects to point A of connector 2 !!!
If that's how the directions say to hook them up... And the connection is good !
I am not sure what we do with the shield though ?
You may want to tie the unused wires (2 extra pairs ?) together and to the shield ??
I figured as much. I have a crimper from when I did low voltage installs. So crimping the ends is nothing new. But it apears that the casing around the ends might be tied into the shield? Ir they are shielded themself. I will have to look up that end that is used also.
