Title: MNS COMBOX Project
Post by: Wizbandit on October 14, 2021, 11:30:09 PM
I was tasked with writing some development software to interface (read) data from our Classic and KID Charge controllers.  The Classic uses MODBUS and the KID uses serial data.  When I got the data info on the DIY Inverters I saw it was RS485 MODBUS so I wondered if I could read data from it.  With a few lines of code and after discovering the MNS COMBOX had a small glitch in the RS485, I got it working.  Since this code was initially designed for development use we are still discussing leaving it in the COMBOX for users to have access to.

The setup uses free open source GRAFANA dashboards.  Really looks pretty cool with all the things you can do with the data, gauges, dials, panels, graphs.  The database is a "times series" type written to 12 times a minute.  Not sure if there will be much interest tho...
