Keen to use the 1549 hardware VMM. Can you guys clarify the proceedure? You put the jumpers on a running classic? Then what, remove them again?

On the latter matter i gather the latest beta firmware has a work around:

8-19-2013
Classic app. Version 1549,  Networking Version 1547, MNGP Version 1552
Added hardware method of VMM initialization by jumpers.  Boot and Xtra
jumpers on (after booting) will re-initialize Main Classic parameters
similar to VMM Vulcan Mind Meld from MNGP.  Mainly for Classic Lites.
Network times out at 5 minutes instead of 30 seconds over TCP/IP
Various networking (timing) changes for My Midnite connections.

Added modbus phone jack routing options for Follow-Me and SMA in COMM
sub-menu in MISC.

Could you explain the exact procedure for doing that?

Cheers

Yes. You know those four jumpers behind the terminal block?

It's the left hand jumper and the right hand jumper.  Place the little jumper shunts on the right side and the left side jumpers and you will see the LED's flash And blink for a minute.  The LED's flashing mean said it did its thing.

You will want to make sure that the classic is not actually running when you do this. Actually, it may not actually matter.  But to be on the safe side...

Realize that doing this will set the classic for 12 volt nominal battery.  You will need to use the local app or something to change the parameters.  At least this takes care of the VMM issue.

I can look but I don't think it does.

That would be because what would it be set it to ?

There is not good static IP that it should be that I know of.

It could be many different values.

What do you think ?

Oh !??!  Of course.  That's a good point actually.

Not sure what it should be set to but that can be done with the MNLP switches.
