I just did 1779 2-20-14 firmware update . ( didn't do VMM though )

My question is how much time past the point that the Classic SOC gets to 100% would I want to say that it has reached it's ending amps ?    My battery bank of EastPenn Deka L16 have 370 AH capacity .

Update - okay I slid across the slippery ice and found enough unfrozen distilled water to calibrate the refractometer . Looks like about 3.2 to 3.4 Whizbang reported system amps is close to the magic number but will recheck tomorrow as batteries are charging and get to 100% to see how this agrees with 1.265 specific gravity.

Remember that is is good to do a timed (zero ending amps) of 2 to 4 hours once every 10 days or
so to make sure your batteries do not sulfate, even if the SOC gets to 100%.

If your charge efficiency is set to a lower number % than the batteries actually are, say, 94% when
they are really 95% efficient, that is good too because then you will be sure to put in 100% charge.
A little bit more does not hurt.  The SOC% and amp-hours will not count higher than what your
amp-hour setting is set for though.  When you start to discharge and take out amp-hours from
the battery, even though you may have put in, say, 105% into your batteries, it will start counting
down from that 100% full amp-hour accumulations (100% being the capacity entered)

We would like to eventually get the Kent Osterberg method of periodically timing the Absorb based on ending amps.
The  Anti Sulfation Stage Full charge or  A.S.S.F.

So could maybe set up the equalize to just do that every 10 days for 4 hours  but at the absorb voltage rather than higher . And can just do a higher voltage equalize manually every so often.
I have 370 AH in but the temperature derating has it only showing 350 available at 100 % .

Yes, great idea !   And EQ is not stopped prematurely by ending amps to that fits the bill.
