Putting out a call for pictures of Brats in use. Not sure what we plan to do with these but we may want to use one or two in a magazine add.

Here's mine but as more of a "Don't try this at home"

Here it is doing it's thing with a sharp 235 panel and a 4 watt MR16 sitting on the top corner of the panel as a yard light.

I've had a strange weekend. No power for 36 hours (Noon Saturday until Monday Morning) and I live in the suburbs.

I managed to keep our cell phones charged and run an LED lamp when needed. I got to relive the magic of dial-up like internet speeds by turning my phone into a mobile hotspot via a very weak 3g signal (that's why my phone is charging on the banister).

We have a wood fireplace that helped keep us warm.

It was fun but more frustrating by Sunday evening. Still, I don't think any of my neighbors had lights, the internet, or music.

I live in an apartment and am looking to buy a home. Melanie (we've been together 10 years), now wants a larger permanent off-grid setup when we move into our first home.

I'm just outside King County, a little bit north of Seattle. The highest peak estimate I've seen for households without power was 750k.
