My MidNite ver3

OK, over one hr has passed and the MMV3 knows the number of the FW version I am using (which I changed an hr+ ago),   so does this mean the 2 parts are communicating?

I don't really understand network stuff too well but for getting to mymidnight v3 I put the 159.203.65.201  address in both the Primary DNS and DNS override on the Local Status App and it works.

You need to repower the Classic after changing them - at least I did to get mine to work

That firmware version will show up even if you don't have the ip communicating correctly I think.

I saved the MM V 3 page to my favorites, but when I click and go there I have to log off and sign back in before I can see my Classic?

and there is no data showing yet....

Also a  of LOT  of drop-offs on the L App with this  MM version

You should not have to enter the new IP in the regular primary DNS field, although this field is simply ignored if the Override field is set to anything but 0.0.0.0

There is a dumb problem at the moment where some folks might not be able to see data because the javascript is trying to select a tab which isn't there. I have a fix for this, but it hasn't made it up to the server yet.

You may also notice the auto refresh isn't 100% yet and that the Remaining Amp hours doesn't agree with the Classic. This last one will be going away as the support just isn't there in the code.

Andrew, just to clarify,

I did not change my Classics  IP address,
the subnet is255.255.255.0, 
Gateway is same as my IP address,
Primary DNS is 159.203.65.201 as is the DNS Override


Just clicked the back arrow , left most widget where the data chart should be, and it is stuck trying to download...

I was talking about the Primary DNS. That field is ignored if the Override is set to anything but 0.0.0.0.
In usual operation the Classic uses the IP address as it's own location on the network, either static or DHCP (assigned from the router).
If the DNS Override is set to anything other than 0.0.0.0 then that is the address that the Classic assumes is mymidnite and tries to talk the MyMidNite server at that address.
If the DNS Override is set to 0.0.0.0 then the normal DNS routine is used: the name "mymidnite.com" is sent to the Primary DNS address which should respond with the IP address of MyMidnite.com. This address is then the one that the Classic assumes is the midnite server and tries to talk to it.

Hi,
I have the Classic 150 at a remote cabin and previously was never able to get it to log in to mymidnite. I uploaded the new firmware the other morning and it worked right away logging into the MMV3 site. I'm showing FW 2074 NW 2073. My problem is that the logging drops off after midnight everyday since I installed the firmware. I'm able to log in to the classic through the LA remotely. Every morning I've been rebooting it with the bully option. After rebooting, it soon logs in to the MMV3 site and is good all day until midnight. I have tried both checking & unchecking the night auto reset box in the LA, doesn't seem to make a difference. It is interesting that after I reboot and the classic logs into the MMV3 site for the first time, it uploads all the data from midnight until the morning in the 7-8 minute intervals. I didn't realize it would do that. Anything else I can try?

Hi Andrew, and Eric, 

I changed the to DNS Override to 0.0.0.0 and did a VMM....

OK, so 3 1/2 hours have passed since I did that VMM.  It has had no effect.

I tried Eric's BULLY reboot, no change.

I noticed that the time is out 1 hr due to us being off DST and I went to the Classic, changed to the correct local time and did another VMM.....  so far, again, no success...    ??

Hi, Eric(WB) and Eric.
If you want to use MMv3 you have to set the MM/DNS Override field to 159.203.65.201. Primary DNS is ignored. If you want to use the Original MM, set the MM/DNS Override field to 0.0.0.0, In this case the Primary DNS is used and should be set to your service provider's Primary DNS server or use Google's 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4.

Eric, as for your problem with the unit dropping off every midnight, that is a very interesting phenomenon. I'm not sure if other folks have seen that yet, but if anyone has, please post.
Eric, maybe you wouldn't mind using the local app "Export" feature to PM me your Classic's register settings so I can see if anything looks amiss. The Export is in Config, just hidden below the scroll line under the Unlock Code.

Morning Andrew, 

Well I tried wiping out my FF cache in case there was something hiding there, no obvious change.

I decided to see if I| can get the old MM to work again, and then shift to MMV3 if the  old MM works...


I just reset to 8.8.8.8 and 0.0.0.0 to see what happens as using all other combinations is NOT working..  will advise soon..

Yes that is the screen that comes up when you log on. Then you click your username at the top right. I sort of think it should go right to the main tab myself
