Evening Andrew.... well none of the changes I made today have made any difference, still nothing... in addition to going back to
the oldMM setting 50.57.186.165/0.0.0.0  ... I am going to re-install the FW v 2057 next...

Re-install of FW done successfully, including a complete removal and download.... no VMM following re-install....

a good hour has passed and NADA on either....  I have no suggestions

Are you rebooting the Classic after every DNS change?  Andrew has always said that is required.

And IMHO a VMM is a very good thing after firmware update so I would not skip that step either.

Hi John,

YUP!   VMM and SWMBO do not go together after dark, especially when dinner is on the stove... ::) this after  I shut down the internet every time I VMM'ed and she was on line  ???

kind of like cats and water   :o

ditto after FW update, it feels like I did > a dozen yesterday, plus re-setting all the custom stuff for AGMs via the L APP... and doing a VMM for that too just to be sure... I KNOW it is going to be something small... really small.

add: I now know how to do a VMM with my thumb and adjacent finger and free my left hand to switch the CB's  ;)

A couple things here. It looks like you have bookmarked the front page of mymidnite and not your personal page, that is why when you click your bookmark you are going to the front page an not your personal page. The address of your personal page should be something like https://159.203.65.201/?q=user/816.

Second, it seems that there are a lot of settings going on that don't need to change. Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you have been entering. All you _should_ need to do to get the device on the new mymidnite is to update to the latest beta firmware from the link that Ryan provided. Then change the DNS override value to 159.203.65.201. Then reboot the Classic. You should not have to change any other fields. The Primary DNS setting will have no effect as long as the DNS override is set to 159.203.65.201. Your IP address and subnet should not change. The only field that needs to change is the MM/DNS Override field.
WHen the MM field is set, do a hard power reboot on the Classic and maybe a quick check to make sure that the Network fields are all the same as you set them before the reboot. If the unit is still not calling in then there must be something else going on that we can investigate further.

Having a quick look, it looks like you are running FW 2054 and not 2074 -- at least according to the MM logs. 2054 will not work with the new MMv3, you'll need the latest from Ryan's link.

Correct that is normal. The batch file calls the proper file. Can you send me a screen shot of the local app showing the network settings?

Andrew, here is what I get using your link above... it didn't sign me in straight away... but the address I use now is https://159.203.65.201/?q=user   and it takes me to a filled in page , like the second pic... So I think for me that problem is solved.
thanks

I have done a HARD REBOOT (power down) every time I did a FW install or LAPP change to the settings... just to make sure  .

We are going back on Friday and I will re-download the Installer from
http://www.midnitesolar.com/firmwareReport.php?firmware_ID=17&firmwareProduct_ID=1&act=edit
and  redo the FW install and re-make the IP changes as you outlined above  ... ???  :-\

I would not keep doing the firmware that cant be it. It has to be something on the settings or on Andrews end. When you are there PM me the Device ID and Mac address and I will work with Andrew to sort this out, or RMA the Classic.
