VT Picx #3, what is that wet looking patch from?  Oil?

Yup , I had paper towels in the areas of all the oil spots , and in the small round container is the drained oil out of the KID.

I can fire the KID back up , as I did just before i found the oil drop, I had all the leds & screen  & then  finding the puked OIL , I though ,NAW it's toast . Looking real close no burnt spots or smell , oil from behind the board area BUT seeing a CAP that has i domed top etc. Im thinking I'm reliving the ASIAN stuff Im trying to avoid .

Picture is A Not Reliable product , but lasted a year in use.

Just trying to think of things I've seen that would or could be out of your controll as I feel you know what your doing. It's never a good feeling to loose two controllers to a black screen in a short time, or ever  :(  I do hope to learn the possible cause or the cause.
Walt the second kid is the one in the Golf Cart -Mobile Power for the Ranch unit I put into service February that smoked & dumped the oil . The first kid was a beta unit #25 and I found it black screen a few months ago  in a back woods cabin that was setup for 12V and only load was if someone went in . This & last year our west coast storms have not required anyone to use any emergency cabin overnight stay , so when I went up just to check , I found a black screen & all fuses good .
The SPD still had a blue led lit , so I swapped in my "last spare"  KID .
When I find out what happensd I'll post & let the forum know .

And Walt , some dayz  I don't know what Im doing !!!!!!!!!!  ;)

The second Kid had the 48Vdc Bank in float for a few weeks & I noticed the temps were 48c were the highest.

I wouldn't be too concerned with Midnite taking care of you, they don't seem to nitpick about honoring their warranties. Pretty sure they can sort out its age from the serial number, if it even matters.

As Westbranch mentioned, Email Ryan and he will get you on the way to recovery. ryan@midnitesolar.com

DGD , Mine didn't have a blue LCD or did # 13 Serial .
Them are green & running 1811 Firmware .

Tom , Im not worried , but got my receipts just to be sure.
I know & have seen Robin do the way I will always recommend Midnite .
I did speak to Chris in Tech Support today & we do have a good rapport and are working .
I tried the ticket thing , but Who Knows ..

My Beta Brat has been 100% on the electronic fence!

So today I was on the excavator working the fire about 10 meters / 40 feet round of stumps to be burnt , the golf cart was to be used to harvest and power the fans blowing to keep the heat up .. glad we had a good breeze.

Sorry, I must have mis-read your posts as I thought you had one of the Beta KIDs but instead it seems you just have very lo serial numbered production KIDs #13 and #25 and a Beta Brat

No Worries dgd.
I got up super early & pulled a spare Classic & bypassed the KID wiring or extended  EZ job for the Classic .
I needed power in the back 60 for a squirrel  fan / blower .
when the winter is so wet for so long , I need air flow to create heat and minimum smoke .

So here is one job that the Elly was built for , fan draw 3 amps , Classic was in float at noon & i used the fan most of the day .
Breeze or a good wind helps , stagnate air  A fan is required to lessen the smoke & keep the heat up. 40' dia 20' tall is down to a few wet stumps.

Though some might follow.

Showing my ignorance. Why do you need to run a fan when burning off the timber?

Ahhhh But it's a cool Wet !!!!!
I got rid of 60 stumps , but still have 4 that didn't burn , lost major of it. They started at 4'  1.5m to 6 feet dia some of them .
Its just drying up enough to get the mini-excavator root raking the area. Thats my job for the next week. I need to prep the land to be seeded.
