I don't if this is the correct place to ask.  I'm running my battery charging from the controllers through a 2 AWG cable and it is protected by a MNEDC100 (100 amp panel mount) breaker.  Does MidNite make a 120 amp version of this breaker which would better match my wire and fit the same space on the panel?  Otherwise, I'll have to start limiting the Classics later this year when I have over 3 Kw put out.  These Mono-Crystals have been getting close to 90% lately.  I figure a 120amp could cover 4000W X 85% / 28V. and the wire handles that with ease.

Hi Powerplay,

Quick answer is NO.   100 A is the maximum Rating for this size breaker  --  it is a C-Frame size.

The MNEDC125  is an E-Frame breaker (IIRC),  physically,  it is MUCH larger.   The E-Frame breakers will not fit in the MNDC Quad boxes,  or any other place that the C series breakers fit.

If you are using an e-Panel,  there may be a spare spot for an E sized breaker,  but  doubt that there would be two unused positions for these large breakers.

And,  know of no smallish electrical boxes that are designed for and Rated to accept several E series breakers.

Powerplay,

Read the ratings for the Classic.......it's 84 amps at 24 volt battery bank...at 28.8 volts that's about 2700 watts......(that's Assuming you have a Classic 150....the higher voltage ones are less current)....are you trying to cook your controller?......be a bit more conservative, it will last a lot longer....I run a maximum of 2kw into each of my two Classics and 560 watts in each of my Kids, I don't like my electronics running so hot.

I set my maximum current out of the Classics at 75 amps and use MidNite MNEDC-100 amp breakers on each one
