Because the "Turbo Fan" in the Classic are very loud, caused by the vibrations of the fan, I want to replace them by better ones, like from Papst.

I am asking for the technical datas of the fans, minimum of rpms / size of min. air flow

Can't address the tech specs but I had a noisy one awhile back and it was actually the duct / cover plastic vibrating and a dab of silicone caulk shut it up quite nicely.

Just my experience.

Do NOT mistake me for any kind of "expert".

Yes the cover can be a reason, on my "lite" I have removed the silicone glue and used "glued stripes" from Tesa (I just don't know english name for it) that helped a bit
But on my 2nd Classic the silicone glue is just holding it all good, but the vibrations of the fan transmit to the cover and it makes the noice.
Bothers me a long time - now I want to replace it ;)

yes one of midnite classics has a really noisy fan too. when talking to the seller in a different matter, he asked my about that noisy fan, as he exchanged quite a few of them. as my system is in the shed i personally am not too worried about the noise, rather the efficiency of the fan.

how are you doing it?

changing the fans before installation, yes. but after installation ???? lots of work involved. the catch 22 is, before installation you do not know you have a noisy fan. i think i do not worry about changing those noisy fans until such time as they bite the dust. but i am interested in vt's filtered cooling.
i have external fans underneath the midnite classics. i noticed the little screens gumming up after a few months, so i clean them regularly with a tooth brush laying ready next to the midnites.

That shows the two fans inside. They make no problem at all, yes you hear them but this is okay and good feedback, they work ;)
But I am writing about the fans on the top the "turbo fan" ;)
And when I am in the basement, working or in the "hobby room", then this fancan make you mad :P

As long as I don't know the rpm of the fans and/or the air it must be able to move (sry again for my english, but you understand for sure) I can not order some fans.
If I can get equal fans that also can move more air, it is for sure also no fail :)

Will write Ryan a mail

Reminds me to my topic,

;-)

I had lost focus on it over the time ... I hear them but ... so many other things "around the head" ...
everytime I come to basement or at the stairs ... I hear them working hehe but I want them more silent.

Does now someone know the air flow that a fan must have, please?

Looking at ebmPapst fans (but these have only simple, no ballrings)
the PCL 0412 F 2H = 6.000 rpm / 9 m³/h / 26 dB / 12v - 0.8 Watt
the PCL 0412 F . .. = 5.400 rpm / 8 m³/h / 22 dB / 12v - 0.7 Watt

Over the time, I had best experiences with Papst fans. Not too loud, long life, no problems.
But I am also open for other manufacturer recommentions.
In the Classics I don't want to change to cheap crap fans, it is not worth to damage the Classics (also if they would shut down caused by overheating. That's the last thing that should happen)
So I think better using ballring fans and not the simple ones, also if they are from Papst.

Do someone know matching fans?

Thanks - again :)

i myself prefer noctua fans. each inverter and midnite classic also has a noctua fan installed underneath to promote airflow and cooling.
