Classic mid-point monitoring/logging

Hi all,
apologies if this was discussed earlier:
How about voltage mid-point monitoring for quick'n dirty battery or cell balance checking?
If a cell develops a short, this would show up as a voltage imbalance.
A programmable threshold could then be used to activate a relay alarm output.
This serves as an early warning before the remaining good cells suffer from over-charging?
I'd really like to see this option implemented preferably through AUX1 (keeping AUX2 available for WBJ).
