Was just given a 400w max 12V wind turbine and already have 3 250w solar panels hooked to my Kid connected to a 48v battery bank. Can I use it simultaneously somehow?

Ok so I cant hook it up to the same battery bank in any way or need a separate charge controller?

A 12 volt turbine can't charge a 48v battery no matter if direct connect to via a charge controller

Ok, I was thinking I would need to use a step up inverter to get to 48 knowing I would reduce wattage. Sounds like I should just use it for one of my 12V setups.

Using it to charge a 12 volt battery is the better idea. A dc to dc converter would be a lot of bother for such little power. If you really want to get a turbine then a proper 48v rated one is best.
