Wiring eight 24v batteries to 48v...

Does anyone have a wiring diagram to wire eight 24v batteries to 48v? I am debating on going with 24v or 48v. The 24v wiring is simple but the 48v has me a little bit confused...

I have attached my diagram on how I think it should be wired...Let me know your thoughts...Thanks!

I have to ask:

Do you have eight 6V batteries you are trying to wire to 48V
or
Do you have eight 24V battery banks you are trying to rewire to 48V

I have eight 24v batteries that I want to wire to 48v

- Battery 1 - 24v
- Battery 2 - 24v
- Battery 3 - 24v
- Battery 4 - 24v
- Battery 5 - 24v
- Battery 6 - 24v
- Battery 7 - 24v
- Battery 8 - 24v

Then your initial sketch is almost correct.
If you took the minus cable and connected it to the bottom battery, that would equalize cable distances in the whole pack and give you better battery life.
  (see method 2),  you currently have sketched method 1
