Hello All,

When turning on the charge controller for the first time, it will ask for the battery bank voltage. The options are 12v 24v 38v.... Then, will adjust the voltage for all the charging modes. My question is can I charge 18v battery bank with MIDNITE SOLAR CLASSIC 150 ? Maybe selecting 12v or 24v battery bank but then adjust the charging voltage to what suitable for 18v bank ?

Thanks  :)

Yes, you sure can.  First set the Classic for 12 or 24V  and adjust accordingly.

For battery temperature compensation, to into the MNGP's CHARGE menu and then into
the T-COMP menu.  From there, adjust the compensation up or down so that is adjusts
50% more (or less) depending on your original 12V or 24V nominal system.

For instance...  (and regular lead acid batteries)...
If you chose 24V system then adjust the T-Comp for  -2.5 mV per degree C rather than
the -5.0 mV per degree C default.

Likewise for 12V original, adjust to -7.5mV per degree C temperature compensation...
Or whatever the battery manufacturer says to use.

The nominal battery bank voltage sets the compensation based on multiples of 12V is
the reason you would want to change this setting as well as the Absorb and Float
voltage settings.
