Mounting Marine version through a board

Hi, I have  a customer that would like to use the kid / marine version for an RV project.

The ideal way to mount this would be to have a cut - out through an existing board / panel that is part of the bed frame.   (nominal 1/2 or 3/4 inch plywood like material).

The idea is to make the face roughly flush with the front / slightly sticking out and the wiring go into the back area and feed into an area that is being made water resistant for batteries, inverter, etc.

There is a water supply tank and system nearby so we are doing it this way to reduce water splash  / spill risk, as well as the intended use will be nominally near coastal areas.

Anyone mounted one "through the wall" before, or have any suggestions?

Thanks

Harry

Keep in mind that there has to be air flow over the Kid for cooling .

Thanks - it is going into a system with only 300 watts of panels feeding a 24 battery pack, so nominally 10 - 15 amps.

That is less than 50% of its official rating.

The compartment will have a thermally switched exhaust fan for any electronics.

I have noticed though that it does seem like cooling must be a large concern given the way it is mounted on an open frame vs simpler methods.
