Do 48 volt DC motion sensor LED flood lights exist?

Looking for a 48vdc motion sensor security flood light than I can wire directly off the my battery bank. May have to find a 120 VAC motion sensor LED light and take it apart and see if I can't get it running off 48 Volt DC directly. Then next challenge is finding a motion sensor that will also work on 48VDC, if one exists. Be nice if there was a plug and play product on the market?

Good question !

If the light itself runs on 120VAC, which is usually what you screw into its light socket, then I would say no.

Is there a LED flood light ?  Probably.

But the internal logic of the sensor is more than likely low voltage DC which can be made to run on 48V DC.

Maybe you use the sensor to turn on a small, say 150 watt 12V inverter to run the light.  But you wouldn't want to "tap" your 48V battery string to run that.

Just find a lower voltage motion sensor light - like 12v or you might find 24v and then use a DC to DC voltage converter to run it. You can get inexpensive buck converters on ebay .  This is just one example -there are lots of other wattage lights or 12v sensors and buck converters of different amp ratings.  Not sure of the efficiency - in the long run maybe getting a small dc to ac inverter might do just as well and you could use a 120v motion light

Ligwyd,

I have searched to no avail, I had to work around. I'm using 12 volt DC motion sensors to control a relay to turn on my bank of 30 watt DC LED floodlights off the 24 volt bank.

I found my floodlights on Amazon but they are 12/24 volt but I have seen others that are 12-90 volts DC, can't remember where.

Heath-Zenith and RCA both market 120 volt AC floodlights that have remote wired sensors , these are 12 v DC ( sensors) . The Heath-Zenith ones are very good with a wide 240 degree field of view. About 8-12 ma @ 12 quicent and 100 ma triggered.   Very hard to find. I scored a few at a small hardware store. Unlike most these have a relay at output, not semiconductor switched.

I use a Samlex-America 24 volt to 13.6 volt  300 watt SDC-30 converter ,to run sensors, burglar alarm, 12 volt radios, etc.
