Hi I am new to the forum and need some help . I have bought a new Midnite Solar Kid 150 MPPT  Charge Controller 150 V  30 A . I am building a charge system on my yacht - so a Permanent Magnet Alternator ( Mwands )  driven off a freewheeling propellor shaft ( when Sailing ) . The probable maximum output of the Alternator would be maybe 15 amps .
The Kid controller I wanted was the Solar -Wind - Hydro MPPT unit , however this I believe has been discontinued , so I have been supplied the Solar unit . My question is this - will my Solar MPPT unit , used in the Hydro system above - work satisfactorily and provide the sensing and control or do I have the wrong unit . To add to my problem , I live in South Africa and my boat is based in Greece  ( I hope it is still there ) . I hope you can help , many thanks .
