My ISP only lets me use 192.168.88.1 thru 192.168.88.250 so how do I connect?

My main router is only on 192.168.88.xxxx so I had to buy another router and set it to 192.168.0.1 to access my Classic 150 Lite. I set the dip settings for DHCP (S2.1 on) and I can see it with the local app (192.168.0.223), but when I set the modem to 192.168.88.1, the classic is nowhere to be found. I used AngryIP to search the addresses. Is there any way I can bridge the 2 routers together so I can use the local app from my main computer? The computer running the local app is totally separate from my main PC.

Hi sunbelt ..,

I am NOT a Network Hotshot, and your exact configuration is not too clear (to me),  but,
On my systems, the Classics and the computer that is running the Local App (LA), need to be on the same Network.  We have two separate solar power systems, that were on two different  Networks.  In order for the Classics on the remote Network to show up on the computer, I needed to put a Network Switch at the far end, and connect the remote router to that switch.  This did allow the remote Classics to be seen by the computer, running the LA.

A bridge may also do what you wish, as well  --  shows what I know.

Good Luck,  Vic

I think I can buy a wireless access point (looks just like a router) and put it into bridged mode. That way I'm not stringing cables all over the place.

Depending on you secondary router, you should be able to set it bridge mode this should disable DHCP on the secondary route and route all DHCP traffic straight through to your primary router.  Reboot your Classic and then it should get an IP straight from your primary router.

If you are not up for that, and assuming your primary router has wifi, an inexpensive net extender would do the job as well. (See Ryan's video in Midnites documents)

Hope this helps,
JB
