On the MN5048DIY
Max PV Watts 5000W
It would be well in excess of 80A
My Question is can I putting more then 80A in from the array and not damage the unit?

Here is the setup
2 Arrays
7 235W panels series  at 37.2Voc = 260.4VDC - 44.3A
Totaling 260.4VDC - 88.6A - 3290W
My Voltage and watts are in spec
If more info is needed please let me know.

Thank you
Jim

I am not 100% positive but 88A vs. 80A  not a huge overload.

As is typical, these things will (should)  just limit the output power/current to whatever they limit to and since 263VDC isn't near it's limit, I would think that should be OK.

To limit, the charger or MPPT section just raises the voltage some above that Vmp of your array(s) which would put it up maybe in the 300+V range ?  The charger just gets a bit warmer when that happens.

I found what I was doing wrong my calculations are wrong.
7 235W panels series  at 37.2Voc = 260.4VDC - 44.3A is incorrect
7 235W panels series  at 37.2Voc = 260.4VDC - 6.3A = 1645W with 2 arrays =  260.4VDC - 12.6A = 3290W
So I am well in spec some times these things can get confusing.
Thanks for the reply
Jim
