Title: Kid lost its memory?
Post by: PKsolar on November 24, 2016, 10:18:47 AM
So since I got the switching from load corrected, the last 4 days I've checked up on the operation. Above the LBD setting of 12.4V (reconnect at Float) the relay from the "Manual On" setting has run our fridge. Late in the evening it has flipped the relay to house solar load as expected when it hit 12.3V and display correctly stated in Status as LBD (Low Battery Disconnect).

Then, last night I get home to find the fridge off (luckily still plenty cold). I see the Inverter turned off at it's 12V LVD and per Kid display the status read Manual "ON" running at only 11.9V and keeping the relay closed. Why would it forget the programmed 12.4 LBD when it hadn't been touched for a week??

I reprogrammed it for Manual Off and turned off the system completely. Restarted it and reset Kid to Manual On. Then it read LBD in status correctly and relay was openned as it had for the previous week. So what went wrong????

Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving,
PK

So many bugs .
Load in the same or new firmware you did to start this , and then do t factory reset & then reprogram with what you have setup & recorded .
You had a bug , so retrace & rebuild without the bug & start again. record & note !

NO , I have a dedicated machine in XP or WIN7 with all the firmware's downloaded Or recorded settings .

I have stopped all my machines @ WIN7 & let the rest pass me by. (regedit & msconfig toys)

Kids will drive you to broke & a white stick .

Been this way since 2002 & never a problem .
Linux is next & kick WIN/MAC , use undernet ports .
It's so bad you can read pages without distractions !! Total JOKE .

Just to make sure anyone reading this past effort... Do NOT use Float function in Manual On mode as it does not work. MS will hopefully debug that problem. It works fine if you set the LBV and reconnect in voltage only.

Thanks all,
PK

KID Firmware 1840 has fixed this LBD "Float" bug and many others.  It is the most stable firmware release to date with only a few cosmetic issues that are scheduled to be fixed in 1845.  (Beta 1844 adds AUTO EQ and has a few glitches being fixed now)

FW1840 added some nice features.
MODE OFF is displayed instead of RESTING if you left it off.
With SYNC mode with 2 KIDs the Master has a "M" and the Slave has a "S" on the LCD, way cool feature.
Nuisance Tripping of the battery breaker (and fuse blowing) from reverse current during mode switching has been fixed.
LOAD Circuit LBD has been redone and seems to now work as it should.
