Title: MPPT function in hydro mode Micro Hidro
Post by: Gabriel Tanasescu on October 09, 2017, 12:47:48 PM
Hii All.
I had one problem with my Midnite Clasic 250VOC.
Is connected to Hydro generator -> .waterwell.
Some time the Midnite make noises and smell like something plastic heated /burn.The noises come from cooler fans.
The max input  voltage is 200v DC and output DC amperage is 2-3Amp . Off course the voltage drops down to 56-58v. Some time he goes to 150v and 0 Amp. and never come back.
Midnite is connected to one Batt bank 400Ah/48v. Conected to Batry Bank is connect also the OffGrid inverter .Float 54 -Bulck 57.6
Same battery charge is setup on Midinite.
I used in "trinyted" hydro mode. Max MPPT V 100 ---- 2%----Min MPPT V 35.
What can be cause? Please help

Thanks a lot

I remember in the past there was some discussion about the fans on the Classic getting loud because the Turbo fan on top vibrated around and I think the fix was to take off the cover on them and put a little bit of silicone or something to hold it tight in the case. There is some discussion on here about that  but it was for older Classics - the issue was probably resolved in newer Classics.

If it smells like it is burning perhaps the fan is failing ? And that could be why it is loud too. If that is the case contact Midnite and perhaps they can send you a new one under warranty depending on how old yours is.

Yes...... Is it the external turbo fan with the problem or one of the two internal fans ?

The internal fans will come on at a lower temperature than the external turbo fan does.

We can go from there.
