KID Wind

Hello from Czech Republic,

I've just received my new KID and it looks nice kinda heavy duty controller,

Well ... i have 1kw wind turbine and bought KID only because i saw planned support for wind in Q2 2014 + load clipper mode.

Can anyone tell me:
1. When there will be firmware update for wind?
2. Can i directly connect 3R 1500w 48V resistor to the load terminals and set mode to clipper-input?

Somebody mention in "KID clipper" thread that it's not possible to directly connect R to load due to voltage spikes and that i will need real "midnite kid clipper". Is there same workaround like using Load/Clipper+- to drive MOSFETs with custom clipper? Or maybe somebody already tested it with snubber circuit ?

Hello Storeko,

The Kid can only be used for wind with the Kid Clipper from MidNite. Any other clipper could result in permanent damage to the Kid.
The Kid Clipper will be out later this year and will be sold as kit with the clipper.
Wind Kids and Solar kids are two different units.
