So I followed every instruction available to connect my classic 150. The instruction manual was worse than some that came with bad purchases that came on the slow boat from china... But I talked to the "experts" at the hotline, looked at the videos, and posted for additional info... When I hooked it up to a 4 deep cycle batteries in parallel (12 volt) the display was a few words on top and a word or two on the bottom and then garbled dots and dashes across most of the display. I tried several factory resets. I think this is going to have to go back to amazon. very disappointed with product, manual, customer service and videos. Anyone have advice on a better product? Maybe from china would be better. I've put thousands of dollars into my project and need a charge controller that works.
If you got a defective unit from Midnite they will make it right if you open a ticket on their website.
Not snake oil because there are a lot of us who have been using the Classics for a long time .
If you want to get a different controller you will have to shop around - there are some other good brands out there but the Classic has features not found on others. So really depends on what features you need. You may want to check the Northern Arizona Wind Sun forums for discussions and advice on alternatives.

I smell a troll....... :o
blueskies, you have posted before and I thought you had already gotten your Classic to work ?
Did you buy a second Classic off of Amazon and it did not work ? Bad display maybe ?
Just give us a call during the day and we'll take care of you.
Whoa! I see a B-17 in the Onan Man's sig line. Beta tester or early buyer? Inquiring minds want to know!
The OP posted on wind-sun that he had purchased a Mstar MPPT 60 on June 8, 2019
From the OP's snotty attitude and partial description of his system ( 4, 12 volt batteries in parallel) it sounds like he is ignorant to solar system design. The Classic line of charge controllers are likely well beyond his capability. Chinese products are probably better suited to him. I wouldn't be surprised to see him whining on some other forum about the Morningstar controller.
Littleharbor2,
You are right, he is.....
