Classic status screen battery amps VS WBJr. amps

Hello--Installed WBJr. yesterday.  All seems fine, but in the process I noticed something odd.  When there are zero loads and charging is taking place, the Classic status screen Battery Amps and WBJr. amps are about the same value, which one would expect.  But as loads are added, the Battery Amps value on the Classic goes UP, suggesting that it's somehow adding together both the charging and discharging amperage to\from the batteries...which makes no sense.  So given that I'll always assume that I'M the stupid one, not the CLASSIC, I conclude that there's something I'm not understanding.
Any enlightenment would be welcome.  Thanks.

Is the WhizBang wired in the battery only loop, or the output of the controller loop ?

I'm not aware of multiple ways of wiring the WBJr.
As the manual specifies, it's sitting across the shunt, with the violet wire on the battery side.
Thx.

Assuming that you made the change on the Classic Aux2 to select WBJr. And under the Charge Advance menu make sure that it says SHUNT not CLASSIC.

When you turn on loads to the battery, the Classic ~should~ increase its output amps if it was in Absorb or Float.

If the Classic was displaying MPPT (Bulk or Float MPPT), then the Classic amps shouldn't really be able to put out any more amps
while a load is on compared to when the load is not turned on because it is putting out all it can at that time.

If Absorb or Float or EQ, then there is more power and amps to be had if a load should come on.

The selection for SHUNT or CLSC (classic)  is only used for ending amps, not what is displayed on
the MNGP screen for battery current.  For battery current, you have to press the STATUS button
3 (or 4 ?) times to get to the WB Jr. screens.

BTW, go to settings in the WB Jr. screen and make sure that the Reference temperature is correct...

Usually 25.0 degrees C and not 10 degrees C !    Just in case.
