Hello folks,

Well, I just installed my Classic Lite 150 and have to say I'm not too impressed with the "setup" software. I can't set my new controller up without the software? I have been trying for about 4 hours now to get a stable connection and I'm not getting anywhere. I can connect and as soon as I click on the config tab and it tries to write to the controller I keep getting timeout errors. Don't have issues with anything else connected to my network, other manuf. controllers for example. Please advise what information you need to help me get past this.

Controller network settings are DHCP, default address, all jumpers default except 5,6,7, set for custom settings. One thing I don't understand, the ip address is changing about every minute. Also, at times there will be multiple controllers listed in the initial list, all showing green. I only have one controller, and right now in the list is 2 Classics, 192.168.0.5:502 and 192.168.0.6:502. I also keep seeing a listing for 192.168.0.8:502.

I have tried with a linux box through wine, Windows XP sp3, and a Windows 7 machine. No luck with any of them.

Glen

Edit: Seems I can't write anything back to the controller, times out everytime.

I believe you need to set your IP address to a STATIC Ip address rather than dynamic.  Sorry, have not had the problem, but I know that has been a problem for others.

Westbranch is right. There was a bug that caused DHCP to do this on occasion when it was written to. Set the Lite up for DHCP and it should work fine. Or new firmware can be installed and that will fix it as well.
