how can I tell what version of the firmware I have.

Also I have 3 195W panels that the specs say Isc = 3.79, Ipax = 3.5, wired in parallel the Kid shows 30amps + overload.

Make sense?

Jimbo;

When it first powers up the display will show 2 lines the second line says "The Kid XXXX" the XXXX is the firmware version.

Sorry, I can't help with the overload bit.

What is the battery voltage? If it is 12v than yes I can see that being on the limit of 30 amps as that is 585 watts so divided by 12v is over 30 amps. This wont hurt anything though, it simply does not use all available PV when conditions are perfect

yes, a 12 volt (4x6) bank.

I guess it will help get more power early & late afternoon with the extra watts

Jimbo;

That and more overall energy  in overcast weather / short days of winter.
