USB connection

OK, maybe I am one of those that don't read everything in the manual, I will amitt to that.  Can I download all the data that my Midnite 150 has stored to my computer by just connecting the PC by USB to the Midnite 150?  Do I need to setup anything to do this or I have to wire my Midnite to my hub and connect that way only.  I hate to buy a 50 ft cat5
