Title: classic charge controller on wind turbine of different voltage than battery bank
Post by: mahendra on February 10, 2013, 07:55:35 AM
hi there a again i dont mean to be a pain but you guys have been really great thats the reason why i am always back for great support.

My question this time to Midnite is, a good friend is giving me one of those Southwest Wind turbines to add to my existing off grid system.
The turbine is a 48V industrial type without the electronic regulator seen in the newer models like the Air 30 also from South west Wind.
Will this work on my existing 12v battery bank system. Will it convert the excess Voltage generated to 12v nominal  for the battery bank.

Will a classic charge controller do the job required,Because i am planning to get one more for that purpose.

An Air X or Breeze SWWP turbine should work without its regulation circuitry.

That's DC output, right ?
