Title: spd 115 on 12v battery bank
Post by: mahendra on July 07, 2013, 06:29:00 PM
hi . i recently installed an spd 115 on my 12v battery bank ,however after installation the leds did not light up.SO i decided to do a test to make sure the unit was fine so i hooked up a 36v battery system from some old batteries i had lying around and guess what they lighted up(of course i switched the red and black line to check this).just for redundancy i tested it on my two arrays since they are be low 115vdc and  it lighted up as well.MIDNITE CAN YOU PLEASE ADVISE BECAUSE THE UNIT SEEMS TO BE FINE.

AFTER SOME MONITORING I HAVE NOTICED THAT I WOULD BLINK OCCASIONALLY.DON'T KNOW IF THAT HELPS.

The issue is there is no reference between Negative and Ground. For instance if there was a Classic in the system and you installed the Ground fault jumper that would make a reference and the LED would light up. Basically the ground is floating and not part of the system electrically.
