Title: Inter Solar new/prototype products
Post by: dapdan on July 15, 2013, 10:05:01 AM
Midnite,

I have been looking all over the net to see video or other media related to your booth at the recently conclude Inter Solar without much luck. I understand you unveiled some prototype of the brat and kid. It would be nice if you could post some pics, specs and info on the new and prototype products you had displayed at the show for us lowly mortals that could not make it out to San Francisco (espcially when we reside in the Caribbean).

In the future if you could have some video of your display or even streaming of a particular presentation by midnite at these events I would definitely be tunning in to participate.

Cheers...

Here are a couple of pictures of the MidNite booth at last week's intersolar in San Francisco...

I wasn't there myself.

Say boB, just what is that 'thing' with what looks like it's on a  boat-dash-mount and with a huge heat sink on the front face?
Does it go with the Deltecs in the background? ::)
Or do they go with the nipples in that fishbowl of give aways? :o NO ball caps though :'(

Oh my,

That is a solar geeks heaven right there. I am also seeing the e-panel for the connext sw in the second pic. I definitely like. I am ordering a sw4024 today I would love the get one of those epanels. Are they for sale yet. How soon to wait for them. I would love to have one on it way to me with the sw4024 this week.

Can we have some close ups of the kid. Where is the brat anyways.

Cheers...

The brat is to the Left of the kid on the Left hand stand.

The Conext Epanel was a concept and we will be building them different. Not sure if Robin wants to sell those 2 or not I will ask.

Grrrrreat,  I missed that clear lexan (?) cover on the electronics.
It looks like it has an EverReady battery in it, but that is probably not it.

It has an 9 volt battery outside to power it up so the LED's will be active.

Wow, using the 9V as a size comparison it is pretty small...

maybe a better name would be 'Ankle-biter' it's so small...

When do you guys estimate getting The Brat and The Kid  to market? Have a couple of applications hanging in the sun.. so to speak.

All,

After some search on google (cause I was getting no help from Midnite) I have found some info on the kid. Here is the link:

The question for midnite is when I can get my two.

Cheers...

Wow!  Nice find. Very cool!

I may have to get one to use on my yet to be installed microhydro system - it looks like the perfect size for that.  I'll have to save my still-in-box 3rd Classic for my garage/shop - still on the drawing board system ::)

Price??

That spec sheet is pretty accurate. It does look like it is going to be good for 150 volts in though.

I assume it will network with the Classics for follow-me, battery temp monitoring, etc?

Not with the Classic as it is not using ModBus. Mario or boB will have to jump in but I think it uses RS485 for serial data?

That brochure/spec sheet linked to says under Network Cabling - "standard 4 conductor phone cable" - I assumed that meant it can be daisy chained with Classics via the RJ11 jacks.  Is that not the case?

No.  At this point the Kid is not classic communications (modbus) compatible.
