Title: Curve for Kestrel e300 200VDC
Post by: pechan on September 02, 2013, 10:51:00 AM
Hi guys,

I just installed my first Kestrel wind turbine and have it wired through the kestrel voltage limiter and then to my Classic 250.

I noticed that the controller has a built in curve for the 110 vdc e300 turbine but not for the 200vdc version.

I am not exactly sure where to start to develop a mppt curve for my turbine. Is it just a lot of trial and error?

Wouldn't the curve be roughly the same as the 110vdc version, just doubling the voltages?

thanks for the help...

Yes the 200I is double the voltage. So you should be able to just double the voltage across the curve. What is the voltage the kestrel limiter limits to? I was thinking it was pretty high, like high enough to damage a Classic?

The nameplate on the voltage limiter says 245 vdc, I bet that I could see some higher voltages pass through,
Could I adjust the higher end of the curve to try higher amps in order to keep the voltage down?

This turbine has the blade furling built in.
