Golly, that affects several of my favorite personal activities.

Renewable Energy.

Fishing.

Shooting.

At least the batteries get recycled with the other uses it just gets used up. :o

Ya, its just "NEW" lead I guess these  guys think that they are just exporting the pollution...

they forgot about the Trail BC, smelter within an hours drive of the US border...

I read on another technical forum that this will only affect new (virgin) lead production which means it will have no effect on batteries or ammo or fishing... I hope that's true.

If not, the era of lithium batteries for RE applications is long overdue in any case.
