Hi Folks,
I've just gone thru the initial programming & commissioning of our Classics. We have two 250's set up for wind; 48V. Ryan's video walking thru the wind curves was excellent. Everything seems pretty normal except I noticed that the input voltage to the Classics is about 36.3 V. I had thought it would be -0- with no output from the turbine. It is connected, but still tethered. And, there's no wind - this is Murphy's law.
The voltage source appears to be from the battery bank, because it is there even with the even with the input breakers off. Is this normal, or something to be concerned about?
Thanks for any help. ~ks
Kite strings,
I think this is normal for the Classic controller, it is battery voltage as has been described by boB the Classic is a two way controller. Mine does the same thing when all array breakers are off.

It is perfectly normal. You will usually see around half to 3/4 of the actual battery voltage on the input.
