Well happy days, I powered up the Classic Lite, threw the switches on the panels and hey presto it works! 8) I've got an ethernet cable coming in the post so can't tell exactly what's going on yet but with the help of the multi meter I can see she is charging and seems to be holding the correct voltage, and no heat in the cables.
Two questions though if you don't mind. The LED lights aren't going, I seem to remember reading somewhere that you can turn them off but can't find it again. How do you turn them back on?
I have 2v sealed gel batteries and have set the Classic Lite on Gel. I see in the manual there is no Equalise voltage for gel type, does this mean it doesn't do an equalise for gel types? I see you can set it up for sealed type that does have equalise voltages I wonder if I should reset the classic for sealed type instead of gel so I can equalise as it says I should do periodically in the manual?
Any help is much appreciated.

Don't equalize. Higher voltages cause gassing. Gassing is desirable in a flooded battery, but will ruin your gel batteries.

You're talking about the Classic manual (not the battery's manual), correct? I've never heard of a gel battery's manual calling for equalization. (but I still have much to learn).

No it is actually in the gel battery manual from Exide. They do warn about high voltages and gassing though, I'm happy to leave things be.
I'm more concerned about the Bulk, Absorb, and Float LED lights not working at the moment. I'll try a firmware upgrade and a hardware default reset and see what happens.
Found the problem with the LEDs, a couple of the wires in the blue cable connecting the front cover are broken, oh well it's been 6 months, another few days won't hurt.
Someone will correct me if im wrong, but a telephone cable might work in place of the blue coms cable until they can get you a new one.

That is my understanding, also.

I think I read that somewhere too, but when I look at the plug it actually has 6 wires and the phone ones only have 4, it's more like an ethernet plug. I live out in the wop wops so will have to wait. I have a friend who is coming out in the weekend who works in tele communications, he's going to bring his crimpers and we'll put another plug on the end.
