That appears to be a torture chamber for a Classic? It looks to be a Classic integrated into a Clipper.

Notice the unusual flat face on the cover of that Classic. And the door mounted switch like the original Clippers had.

Never saw it before today.

I seem to recall reading about that one a while back, I think it is a custom turbine controller that they made for someone....

doesn't look like there is much venting for the excess heat generated... anyone see a fan?

There looks to be a nice size muffin fan above the Classic but it seems there should be one above the resistors.

Agee.  Maybe it is blowing past the CL and out past the coils???

The pic I originally posted missed the topmost part.
The new pic shows the muffin fan above Classic and a vent over the resistors.
I particularly like that little V shaped hat on top, I imagine because the fan is a sucker moving air over the Classic, out those holes in bottom of center divider and then the air goes out the top vent taking heat away. So the hat is to minimize sucking hot air.

A DC Clipper perhaps? although why does it need a whole Classic or is it a some sort of combo unit using Classic in wind (hydro?) mode with inbuilt diversion resistors.

Ah that was the first rendition of a clipper. The smarts where stuck inside a classic casting and walla. It was slightly more sophisticated than todays clipper but would have been much more pricey.
