Title: Can the LApp do 'settings dump' report?
Post by: Westbranch on August 11, 2014, 06:57:44 PM
I was thinking about installing the latest FW and a factory reset on my 2 CC's.

Is it possible to use the LApp to download all the settings to my laptop for each prior to a full ReBoot?

Would be nice ! But not that I am aware of.  Too bad they aren't saved in a text file. Since it is written in Adobe Air there seems to be nothing but Adobe Flash (SWF) files on the PC. I think the settings are read directly from the Classic. Andrew can tell us if I am wrong.

Unfortunately this key feature is NOT a part of the Local App. This is something we had talked about early on -- unfortunately with all the running around it fell off the features list in favor of some other stuff.

I'd still like to do something like this if I get the time since it's a great way to sync new Classics into a system or to get an RMA up and running again. Hopefully I'll get a few cycles once my latest changes to MyMidNite are finished.
