Title: Controller cycling when diversion load connected.
Post by: asdex on September 26, 2014, 05:29:42 PM
Hi, I saw this on another forum and was wondering if I would have the same problem with the Chassic and if so is there a fix?

"As soon as you connects the "diversion load", the voltage drops and MX thinks the battery needs charging, it then deactivate AUX, the voltage raises back up above float ... and this cycle keeps going."

Thanks,

If the controller's AUX is switching the diversion mode using PWM to control an SSR then this problem should not occur.
However, if the load is simply switched into circuit, at some voltage setpoint, then cycling as you describe may occur.
Its not a fault with the MX60 or Classic or whatever but a setup/control issue meaning the system installer should RTFM where the use of diversion/PWM is well outlined.

If you use aux1, then it has hold and delay settings to manage this cycling. It wont stop it just control the frequency. Before Aux2 PWM that was how it was done, and now with WBjr occupying Aux2 looks like how we will revert to doing it...
