Hi guys,
Please can any one help with this issue. I have changed the network cable but the display is still blank. I bought the classic 150 from amazon and based in Nigeria. Don't know what to do.
If my not so reliable memory is correct you need to do a couple things when you first set up the Classic.
The display is probably not connected "from the factory". There may be a piece of paper covering the display that you need to remove to even see it..
The MNGP (display) cable needs to go to the proper connector on the Classic board which is the top one (I think).
The installation instructions should cover these things.
I am going from memory and it has been awhile since I installed my Classics.
I am not sure what you mean by " I have changed the network cable but the display is still blank". Are you talking about the built in Display or the Local Application display?
More information will make it much easier for us to help you as it is I am not sure what you are having issues with.
Best of luck with it.

Is this a Classic or a Classic Lite? Classic Lite has only an LED display. Pop off the front cover of the display to see if there are DIP switches behind it or not.
I meant l have changed the display cable. Also the inbuilt display is blank. It powers up rightly, the display lights up but no information appears on the display.
Its a 150 classic
This might be an RMA situation. You may want to try updating the firmware to see if perhaps it is a glitch, but this might be DOA.
Do you see any numbers or characters on the display ?
Do the LEDs on the left side of the display flash or light up at all ?
The LEDs on the left side flash when powering on but no character on the display
OK, so the Classic itself is powering up is what the flashing LEDs mean... Good...
Did you say that the LCD back-light comes on when you turn on the Classic ? Just no characters ?
If the LCD back-light is coming on, that means that the MNGP is getting power at least.
The two bottom LEDs that were flashing are being controlled by the Classic itself so that means
that the two outside wires and the power and ground connections on the 6 conductor phone
cable from MNGP to Classic is good.
The only other 2 wires on that cable are transmit and receive wires from MNGP to Classic
inside the casting chassis.
So, if that display back-light on the MNGP is lighting up when Classic is powered up that the
MNGP itself is the problem. The MNGP will show characters and things without actually
communicating with the Classic control board inside.

Thanks guys, I have filed a claim with amazon, in the mean time, I will have to get another MNGP to test. Any cheap seller here
Are you sure that it isnt a 150Lite?

It sounds as though he ordered a regular but after looking (and our advice) that he was
sent a Lite instead. This is because he is filing a claim with Amazon. That's what I take
it to mean.
Well, just saying, a classic lite has a display that doesnt 'light up'!
I have seen pictures, it is a Classic with an MNGP and the backlight works but no text on the screen. I assume something happened with the contrast internally
Gotta love remote troubleshooting! ;D
A picture is truly worth a thousand words as they say.
Now that you know the actual problem the fix should be easy.
