Title: Battery type menu
Post by: Jones on November 08, 2014, 12:35:01 PM
I've changed from flooded to AGM and have adjusted the KID charging parameters according to to the battery makers data.

Could someone tell me if  the battery type choice alters any hidden settings that cannot be accessed from the
Adjust
<BATTERY> menu?

I want to know if I need to reset the KID to it's factory defaults and start again, or not.

Cheers
Jones

Jones, if you Manually changed the Battery Setpoints to match your battery type, you do not need to do a Factory reset, the Battery type selection does not make any secret changes internally in the Charging algorithms.

Thanks Mario,

Can you tell me is it best to use the 100 hour rate (240Ah) or another quoted rate (75 or 20 hour).

All the best

most us  use the 20 hr, or 24 hr if you can get it, as the 20 is close to 1 day length, so you can compare your capacity to 1 days use...
