Title: Master Displays "Unused Address 11"
Post by: WindFarmer on November 21, 2014, 08:45:37 PM
I have 2 Classics that I am try to program to "Follow Me" One is a regular Classic and the other is a Lite. I'm pretty sure I followed the directions right to program each and I can see different settings from Classics 10 and 11 but when I'm looking at Classic 11 on the master Classic every so often it displays  "Unused Address 11".

Any suggestions?

Marc

This is due to occasional bad communications from the MNGP to the remote unit. It just means that the requested information didn't get back to the MNGP in time. If you can do without the MNLP then you can unplug it which may improve the comm situation considerably.

Thanks for responding..........I installed used phone cables....I wonder if one of them could be the problem?

It's possible, but with the older MNLPs we have out in the field bad comms are pretty regular. It shouldn't adversely affect the system, it's just annoying as you well know! In most cases the comms are resumed within 30 seconds or so.

After much reading and searching The correct information is more likely, your classics are at different addresses and not talking to each other.
Set one or the other to the same address as the first and the error will go away.

press and hold the left arrow and tap the up or down arrow until they are at the same address. A classic is likely to be at address 10 and a lite is likely to be at address 11.
I have 5 classics and when I got them I set them all to unique addresses thinking that they needed their own address space...
Had a hell of a time working out this was wrong.
There are apparently 100 different possible addresses once you have set it to where you want it to stay, press the right and left arrow till you get the sent data message.

Hope this helps.
