Title: panel wiring options
Post by: BlackwaterPark on December 18, 2014, 04:55:04 PM
Curious to know what my wiring options are with 3 of the Canadian solar 245w panels going into the classic150 at 24v nominal bank.

Panel stats:245 Watts
Watts (PTC):223 Watts
Max Power Voltage (Vmpp):30 Volts
Max Power Current (Impp):8.17 Amps
Open Circuit Voltage (Voc):37.1 Volts
Short Circuit Current (Isc):8.74 Amps
Max System Voltage:600 Volts
Series Fuse Rating:15Amps

Will three work in series,  or do I need a fourth?

the  question to ask is :  How much power do I want to waste on down conversion to 24V .
the more panels you have in series the more waste heat you will have.
I am thinking that the best would be 2S x 2P.
