Title: Time corralation between mymidnite and real time
Post by: thooker on January 17, 2015, 12:10:45 PM
For the longest time, the Mymidnite site always reports data at one hour ahead of my time???  For instance, it is 10:06 AM now here in New Mexico, but the MyMidnite site shows the last data point at 11:10 AM.

Ok, here is another datapoint.  This is wierd... I was looking at the data graphs, and noticed that for the last two or three days, the Classic starting producing power around 8:30 AM.  I moved the window around a little, looking at the last several days.  Suddenly, with the cursor at the same location as it was earlier, it showed a time which was 1 hour later!  Where it was 8:30, it now showed 9:30!

Whats all this then?

Has anybody else noticed this?  I was looking at the data again this morning, and it starts out OK i.e. the last data point shown is about the current time.  However, if you move the data slider to another day, and then back, the time shown is now 1 hour wrong!

I have Windoze 8.1 Pro.

Is there a time zone setting that I am missing?  I just downloaded some .csv data from the mymidnite website, and under the time stamp in the upper left, there is a number.  In my case it is 600.  Could that be indicating it is set to GMT-6 hours?  If so, that is wrong.  It should be GMT-7 hours.

Just trying to figure this out.

Hi,
Sorry for the delay, somehow "Show most recent Posts" is not popping up for me.

When you create a system on MyMidNite under the Management Tab there is an option for setting the timezone. If this was somehow set incorrectly when you first created the system then obviously the time will be wrong. You can just make a new system with the correct timezone and move the device over to it. That should correct the hour-off issue.

The issue of seeing the latest datapoint jump foreward or backwards an hour is a bone-fide bug. I had to make a little concession to the graphing program that the site is using in order to make it render correctly. I add a fake datapoint right at the end of the graph which can sometimes cause weird effects like you are seeing. I thikn I've fixed this in the latest version of the site which I will hopefully be releasing soon.
