Title: Humber 2kw Windturbine
Post by: raze73 on March 10, 2015, 05:15:56 PM
Hello!

I have a Hummer 2kw H3.8 Chinese wind turbine I would like to hook up to a Classic charging a 48V battery bank.
Problem is it's single phase AC and rectifying that will not be smooth DC. Can the classic handle it, or do I have to add capacitors and what size?
If the Classic can handle it, I also would like to know how to program the wind curve for the classic from the turbines power curve?
I don't need a clipper since I'm using it now to preheat water and can divert excess power there in the future as well.

Thankful for some help!

Best Regards
Robert

Here is what I come up with for a curve at first glance.

Step1- 0A and 85V
Step2- 1A and 90V
Step3- 5A and 95V
Step4- 10A and 100V
Step5- 15A and 105V
Step6- 20A and 110V
Step7- 25A and 115V
Step8- 30A and 120V
Step9- 35A and 125V
Step10- 40A and 130V
Step11- 45A and 135V
Step12- 50A and 140V
Step13- 54A and 145V
Step14- 58A and 150V
Step15- 62A and 160V
Step16- 65A and 160V

OK! Thank you Halfcrazy, any ideas about the smoothing capacitor requirements anyone?

The classic has a bunch of capacitance so I would say try it without adding more. Make sure to use a full wave rectifier
